California Lawmakers Claim Bill Would “NOT” Ban Sale Of Bible!

For the past few weeks the internet has been ablaze about a proposed bill in California that would essentially ban the sale of the Holy Bible. The authors of the bill have since come forward to clarify their position and to assuage the fears of many who believed that their 1st amendment rights to free speech and religious freedom had been compromised. According to factcheck.org, the bill would prohibit the advertising or selling of “sexual orientation change efforts” — or so-called “conversion therapies.”

Assemblyman Evan Low, who introduced the bill, has gone on record stating:

Sexual orientation change efforts are defined in the bill as “practices that seek to change an individual’s sexual orientation. This includes efforts to change behaviors or gender expressions, or to eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward individuals of the same sex.”

In short, this bill would not ban the sale of the Holy Bible but it does blatantly attack the MOST central theme of the entire bible, “REPENTANCE”. This bill both directly and indirectly vilifies anyone who claims that a person who is a member of the so-called LGBTQ community can change both their lifestyle and sexual practices through repentance in Jesus Christ.

prov 2813From Old Testament to New Testament, the Holy Bible is unwavering in defining homosexuality in all of its many forms as a sin. But through Christ, even the greatest of sins can be overcome.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

 

 

 

In the book of 1st Corinthians Chapter 6, the Apostle Paul addresses the Church by exhorting them to continue in the faith and to remember that through Jesus Christ they are now clean of all past sins including fornication. To be clear, the Bible speaks against ALL fornication (sexually deviant behavior) including but not limited to adultery, homosexuality and being a whoremonger. If repentance in Christ can convert us from even these sins, why then are so many opposed to homosexuals being offered the same gift?

California lawmakers assert that the concept of a person converting from a homosexual lifestyle is frivolous at best and dangerous at worst. But the Holy Bible assures us that through the laws of Jesus Christ, repentance can convert us all.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

James 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
