Young and Carefree

Most young people today have a carefree life where they live in the moment, not thinking of the consequences of the things that they’re doing. Like most of us know, when you’re young you think that you’re invincible and that you should have all the fun you can before you get old. Some of those fun things include, experimenting with different drugs and most notably having all the sex you can before deciding to settle down.

With the advent of the media pushing these things on TV and in different music, the problem only worsens.

The scriptures give specific warning to young people on this matter.

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.

The scripture is telling us that all the things that we do will be brought in to judgment because the purpose for all of our lives, both young and old, is to have respect for God and his son and keep their commandments.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

For a young man or woman in today’s world, to be a virgin, it’s almost like committing sacrilege because almost everyone is “sowing their oats.” They’re sleeping with whomever and whenever and having lots of fun doing that. When the Lord created us, he did not intend for us to be that way. He wants a man to leave his parents house and marry a woman to raise a family and so it should be throughout all generations and doing the opposite is considered to be fornication.

Mark 10:6-8 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. [Christ didn’t say anything here about sleeping with different people until you find the right one.]

1 Timothy 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, [not opening up their legs to every man that comes their way like you see these young girls doing today] bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

1 Corinthians 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

None of us know when we’re going to die and if you are a person whose young and carefree and just living your life without any regards to God’s commandments, you should consider your ways and repent.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

The Lord will forgive you if you stop from committing these acts and turn your life around.

You may ask how to do that?

Psalm 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
