Faith in Politicians

With the upcoming election there are still many people out there that put all their faith and hope in politicians. After Barack Obama’s famous “yes we can” and “change” slogans at the last election, many people thought that their lives would change for the better or the so- called black community conditions would be better once he was elected. Some even thought that the electing of the first black president of the U.S. would put an end to racism.

The bottom line is people put too much faith and trust in men, especially politicians, when we should be turning to the Lord who is over all to help us out with our situations.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Psalm 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

Most politicians are corrupt and don’t serve the people that vote them in, but rather their constituents that donated a lot of money to their campaign, so we should not put our trust in them.

Jeremiah 17:5  Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

People’s heart goes away from what the Lord commands us to do and they hold on to every vain promise that is made by a politician and every single time people get tricked and fooled.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ commands us to follow him in order to get that relief that we so desperately need and to change our lives for the better.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
