Art Imitates Life as Rapper Charged with Double Murder!

The question has often been asked, “Does life imitate art or does art imitate life?” In the case of Antwain Steward aka “Twain Gotti” it was definitely the latter. The Virginia rapper is now facing charges for a double murder which took place in 2007. The case had all but gone cold until Twain Gotti’s own song lyrics boasting of the crime, provided a detailed confession of his murderous actions.

Psalm 52:1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. 2 The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. 4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. 5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

The Lord Jesus Christ explains that this wicked and perverse generation cannot bring forth a message of righteousness. This is why their mouths are only capable of speaking of fornication, foolishness, blasphemies, idolatries and murders!

Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

If rappers have become the preachers and prophets of this new Satanic age, then how far will this anti-gospel spread before the judgment of the Lord is at hand? The scriptures give us a clear warning that we must no longer receive our instructions or look for wisdom and life lessons from the enemies of God. We should instead hear the instructions of those who have repented in Christ and now let their light shine as an example of holiness in a world covered in darkness.

Proverbs 19:27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.

Ecclesiastes 7:5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Join us on Blogtalk Radio as the Brothers from The BOCC address the question “Are Rappers the new Preachers?”

In this day and age, does music have more influence than the Bible?
Our children tend to remember rap lyrics more than ABCs’ and 123’s; Even more so, than the Commandments of God. More importantly, do these songs give a positive message or a negative one? If Rappers are the new preachers, what are they teaching?
