The Coronavirus

The Coronavirus Covid-19 have impacted the whole world in every aspect of life unlike anything that we have seen in recent times. Many people are scared and in a state of panic and while most people will acknowledge that this does have something to do with end time prophecies they are oftentimes either misinformed or being lied to by false prophets.

Lets examine what the bible says about these times, how we should be and what we should prepare ourselves for.

Lets start by saying that we are living in the end times and these are signs of the end.

Matthew 24:6-8 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Pestilence means a fatal epidemic disease which is clearly what the covid-19 is, so Christ warned us that these things would be taking place as a sign before his return. It also says pestilence[s] which means it’s more than one, so things like this will be taking place on more than one occasion. So they can come up with a vaccine for it but it will come back again and other more deadly pestilences will follow.

So how should we be in this time?

He told us in verse 6 when he said “see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass…” There’s nothing that we can do to stop these things from happening because it was already prophesied that they would be happening.

What we should do and always do because it’s a constant and repetitive theme throughout the bible, is to look at ourselves and make sure that we are living according to his commandments.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

In this particular scripture Christ was addressing one of the churches in prior times and he was telling them that because they were patient and kept his commandments and made no rash decisions (which oftentimes happen when we’re in trouble), he would protect them from the temptation that would be happening to everyone living in the world.

The same thing goes for us living in these times during this pandemic because whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4

We see the temptation happening to everyone living in the world now because of this pandemic.

Seeing all of this happening all around us, what should we be preparing ourselves for?

Luke 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

We should be preparing ourselves for the new world that is to come by repenting from our sins and living according to how Christ showed us.

Acts 3:19-21  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
